Next, the session will focus on preparing for a successful IHP annual meeting, managing the meeting, coordinating services with day programs and providing Quality Enhancement activities that assist the agency to best meet the needs of the individuals served. The workshop will provide sample formats to assist the QMRP to return home and “feel good about quality”. Some of the topics covered will include: · Q - QMRP reviews – Function and Outcomes · M - Monitoring for Quality · R - Running a successful team meeting · P – Planning and coordinating with offsite or day programs
This course is not just a repeat of the very successful pre-session from last year. It has been updated and will provide you with some valuable tools and tips you can take home and put to immediate use. It doesn’t matter if you have 2 months experience or 10 years experience. A very practical set of materials will be provided for each participant.
Creating a Meaningful Day– presented by: Linda Cofield-Van Dyke
Down time, free time, unstructured activity, all yield the same result: boredom! Boredom: our worst enemy; waster of resources; waster of time; waster of lives. Linda Van Dyke has spent years fighting that boredom, bringing worthwhile activities to people who, by virtue of significant disabilities, are too often denied the opportunity of free association with others, the opportunity to participate meaningfully in their communities. If you too are challenged with helping others to experience a meaningful day, you’ve come to the right place.
Linda’s program, as do most, struggles daily to find resources to keep bringing services to hard-to-serve people. Her economical, common-sense approach has resulted in a wide array of ideas and activities that can be inexpensively produced, supported by small numbers of staff, and yet are easily augmented and made more elaborate by those who are having a good budget year. We’re fortunate that she’s now willing to share her secrets.
This workshop provides hands on arts based curriculum lessons, goals, objectives, strategies, and general ideas that enhance the program day for those with severe and/or profound impairment. The workshop will promote creative options in programming for those most challenged. |
