REGISTRATION INFORMATION

 

Join us this year for the Thirteenth National Conference of Qualified Mental Retardation Professionals (QMRPs) which will be held in Memphis, Tennessee at the Peabody Hotel.  This year’s theme is “Feeling Good About Quality”.  Beginning Tuesday, August 5, disability professionals from around the nation will gather for a vast array of educational programming.  The annual week begins with two all day preconference sessions to choose from.

Travel & Accommodations

The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee serves as this year’s conference headquarters.  The rates are $149/single, $159/double, $169/triple and $179/quad.  For reservations, call and be sure to mention the conference to get your discounted rate.  Rates are valid through July 05, 2008.

Wednesday Conference-Wide Dinner (7:00 – 9:00 p.m.)

Join us Wednesday evening for dinner and live blues music at BB King’s Blues Club, located on Beale Street, just a few blocks from the Peabody Hotel.   An “All You Can Eat Smokehouse Buffet” will include:  BB’s BBQ Ribs, Pulled Pork, Herb Marinated Roasted Chicken, Tossed Caesar Salad, White Cheddar Mac n’ Cheese, BBQ Baked Beans, Home-style Cornbread with Honey Butter, Bourbon Pecan Pie and Mixed Berry Cobbler.  There will be 2 hours of unlimited drinks (beer, wine and soda) during the event (7:00 – 9:00 p.m.).  The cost is $60 per person.  You can bring guests for the same rate.  Space will be limited so be sure to sign up for the event early with your conference registration.

 

Activities During and After the Conference

Tuesday, August 5 – Cocktail Reception

Join us at the Cocktail Reception (in the Peabody Hotel) on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  It is a great opportunity to network with other attendees.  Complimentary appetizers will be served with a cash bar.

 

The Peabody Hotel is in the heart of downtown Memphis.  It is within walking distance of the Beale Street entertainment district, The Rock ‘N Soul Museum, the Gibson Guitar Factory, the Peabody Place Museum and the Peabody Place Entertainment Complex.  The hotel is also close to Elvis Presley’s Graceland and Heartbreak Hotel, The National Civil Rights Museum, Mud Island, The Orpheum Theater and Mississippi Casinos.  The Peabody Hotel’s own attraction, the “duck” march, occurs twice-daily.  Make it a point to watch the ducks march from the rooftop of the hotel to the fountain in the lobby of the hotel.
